IWT in South Dakota!

Image

Here we are in Watertown, South Dakota. It’s the 5th largest town in the state, surrounded by rural farming communities. There is a strong religious heritage, but for many people it is only a Sunday morning ritual. We are partnering with the local churches to share the gospel and our testimonies of how having a personal relationship with Jesus has changed our lives.

Our first performance was a combo show at the Watertown mall with GX and Team Xtreme. We are performing and sharing personal testimonies at nursing homes and schools.

We have performed at two large outreach events in two towns. At the first outreach night at Webster high school, 550 attended, 88 received salvation, 21 of which were unchurched. Three entire families came up for the altar call together. A 15 year old girl who surrendered her life to Jesus was pregnant and dedicated her baby to The Lord.

The second outreach night was held at Tiospa Zina American Indian Tribal School. This school is strictly only for Native American children. Many of these students come from broken families impoverished by alcohol, drugs and gambling addictions. The tribal committee is very strict to let outsiders, especially Christians, come into the school. Because Island Breeze is a native culture and dance group, they allowed us to come. Two natives from our team shared their personal testimonies. After the show the local churches served food and our teams ate with the students and their families.

Thank you for all your prayers and support. It is an honor to partner with you in sharing the good news about Jesus here in South Dakota.

A touch of Holland

Image

Aloha from Iowa, USA!

These past 10 days were spent with Impact World Tour bringing the good news of Jesus Christ to Pella and Newton, Iowa. This is a Dutch reformed area that has a religious background, but unfortunately for many, Christianity is only a religion.

Image

We came to share not about religion, but about the one true and living God who wants to have a relationship with you! Between the three teams, GX, Team Xtreme and Island Breeze, we went to all the schools and elderly care homes in the surrounding area to perform, share testimonies and invite them to the weekend shows where we could more openly share the gospel. We were blessed to have the leaders, June & Paulo Mataia, of Warriors Come Home join us for the weekend shows. June and Paulo are good friends of our leaders and also fellow co-workes in YWAM and Island Breeze.

Thousands of people attended both weekends and responded to the gospel message. They are followed up with local links to get them plugged into a church. One couple that hosted some of our team members said with tears in their eyes, “Thank you so much for coming here. Three of our grandchildren came to all three shows and accepted Jesus.” They were so shocked that we didn’t get paid, and we would come all the way to their little town in the middle of Iowa. Jesus left the 99 sheep to find the one lost sheep, because he loves them so much he doesn’t forget about a single one. Because Jesus does this, we will do the same. Go to those that are hard to get to, overlooked or deemed as insignificant, because they are significant in the Kingdom.

On the 21st, a young boy was walking home after our show, was hit by a car and airlifted to Des Moines. He passed away this past Tuesday (April 23rd). Please pray for his family and the community, that God will comfort and bring them peace. This has been a reminder to our team of the importance of sharing the gospel, because the eternity of souls are at stake. Tomorrow may never come.

Thank you for all your prayers and support. It is truly an honor to partner with you in spreading the good news of Jesus to the nations.

Blessings and mahalo!

An Answered Prayer

By Rona Malama –

Five years of my life I spent away from God. A choice God had for me to choose so I chose to walk away! In 2004, Auckland New Zealand. I was at an Island Breeze show with my boys, taking advantage of the free entertainment.

It was there that I thought I had everything together. Girl friend, car, job, my boys, what else could you ask for? At least that is what I thought…..
The lights turn off and there’s a silence on stage. A shout and the drums start beating, and to my surprise so does my heart. The dancers start coming out and we start calling out to the pretty island girls from the islands.

So the show goes on and we are getting drunk.
Then they (Island Breeze) do a dance from NZ. A reenactment of the crucifixion! At the end of the performance my heart dropped as Rudy gives the altar call!

He said, ‟There’s somebody in this crowd that knows he is supposed to be here responding. If your heart is not right with God, and you leave here tonight and die in car crash, you know where you‟ll be.”

That was it, I said! I raised my hand and went to the front. Knowing I had been away from the God I knew I HAD to get my heart right with God!
I made a deal with God saying, “Lord! If I get my heart right with you I want to be standing right next to that man talking on the mic…..” because I knew I needed to be doing something good in my life.
I said this in 2004. Today I’ve stood next to (on stage, my instrument is set up right next to his) Rudy Valle since 2007 and have been traveling with him and the team to different parts of the world…

God is good!!

Konichiwa Japan!

{Tokyo International Airport–We were welcomed by Toshimi and her girls with beautiful hand sewn leis}

We are here in the land of Rudy’s mother, a dream come true for Rudy as he has always wanted to come back and minister to his people with the family.

{The “A” is the location of Iwaki, Japan}

Our first ten days are being spent in Iwaki, Japan volunteering at the Global Mission Church. This city is now home to many of the survivors of the 2011 tsunami that hit Japan. One of the places we were taken to was the temporary housing that the government has set up for those unable to go home because of the tsunami and radiation. Global Mission Church opens a little cafe at the temporary housing every Thursday and this past Thursday they took us along with them. We were able to sing, dance and even teach some of the women how to hula :).

{Inviting people to our cafe and performance}

When some of the people came to the cafe they looked very serious and so devoid of joy, but after our time together everyone left with big smiles on their faces. One of the women shared with us, with tears in her eyes, how she’s been very lonely (her grandchildren are not able to visit her at the temporary housing) and that she’s also sick but that the morning with us was better than medicine for her. Another woman had come by taxi because she heard that we were coming that day but missed everything due to the taxi picking her up late. She caught us just as we were leaving so we decided to stay and do two dances for her right in the parking lot. She was so moved by what we did that she gave a donation of 10,000 Yen ($125US).

It has been a little frustrating without having our own translator but despite our lack of language, God’s love, joy, and hope is stronger than that. The stories shared above are only a few of what Jesus has been doing through our team, and it’s only day3!

Thank you for your continued prayers and support. We really could not be here without your support-prayers and financially.

Love,

theValle’s.
