Aloha from Hawaii

Aloha from the Big Island :-)!

Since the Iowa tour in April, our family (and team) have been on the Big Island also known as Hawai’i island.
At the beginning of this year our daughter Ruth became engaged to a young Norwegian man. They are to be wed in two weeks! God orchestrated our tour schedule and their wedding to work out perfectly so that we could be home to prepare for this grand celebration.
Rudy has been blessed with a job doing construction with a friend’s company as well as playing music at the Island Breeze Lu’au’s and training new musicians. He and Ruth are also apart of our church’s worship band.
Ruth recently completed a three month Hawaiian language course through the University of the Nations and has been working part time as a polynesian dancer at the luau. She is very excited to be marrying the love of her life! As you know, a lot of work goes into planning a wedding. We are so blessed to have had my cousin dream, plan and organize everything for Ruth and Yngvar’s special day.
Brooke has been training our team in the basics of polynesian dance, working (dancing and photography) and helping out with whatever she can with the wedding. She is a hard worker and such a strength to our family.
Tavita loves being home for the summer because he gets to play with his friends. Being on the road for most of the year is hard on him because there aren’t any children his age to play with. Since being home he has attended two short youth camps, joined the Kona Bulls rugby team, and competed in a community soccer tournament. Our boy is full of energy 🙂
Tony, my nephew, has been volunteering with the grounds department at the University of the Nations and working as a dancer at the luau. He also enjoys being home because it reminds him of his birthplace, Samoa.
Yngvar (Ruth’s fiance) has been with us for the past month to help with wedding stuff, attend marriage counseling and serve at our church. We have enjoyed having him here during this time and getting to know them better as an engaged couple. He loves to fish and has cooked us a few dinners with what he’s caught. He is a wonderful man that loves the Lord and we could not be happier to have him in our family.
I have been keeping busy making sure my son is up to date with his homeschooling, wedding planning and getting more involved with our church and Island Breeze’s prayer ministry. It has been a season of crying out to the Lord to see his promises fulfilled and also a time of praising the King of king’s for his faithfulness. As you know, wedding’s are not cheap but neither is our God! He has faithfully provided what we have needed, exactly when we needed it. He has brought us on this faith journey and we know He will be faithful to complete it.
Please keep us in your prayers as we transition into this new season of our daughter moving away and also having a son-in-law 🙂
Thank you for your continued friendship over the years and across the miles. We are thinking of all our loved ones near & far who will not be able to come for Ruth & Yngvar’s wedding.
Bless you all :-)!
