Scotland End.

Aloha friends & family,

I am writing to you from lovely Hartville, Ohio. It has been about a week and a half since we got back from our outreach in Scotland, United Kingdom. God, as always, did great things in the lives of the Scots as well as in our own. We faced a few more obstacles than usual, but nothing our God cannot handle. I know this goes without saying, but he is f a i t h f u l! If you’d like to hear more about our time there please check out the blog we just posted to our team website: www.islandbreezeiwt.com. We’ve compiled a few of the testimonies from our team and the local churches we worked with in the blog. Good stuff right there! :)

Our core team is currently on break until our next outreach in January 2012. Right now my family and I are resting as we have been on the road since July of this year! We are staying with some good friends of ours who are taking very good care of us :)

Please continue to keep my dad in your prayers as we are looking into treatments for his strained vocal chords (spasmodic dysphonia). We will be sure to keep you all updated.

-Brooke

{Braveheart} Scotland

Aloha from the wet and cold Scotland!!

We have been in the highlands of this beautiful country for the past 2 weeks.

Week 1- Tillicoultry, Clackmannanshire. Impact World Tour had a total of 5 evening performances and a dozen more school assemblies and a couple nursing/care homes. In the one week there were 300+ recorded decisions to follow Christ!!

There is such a hunger in the youth here, unlike any I’ve seen before. They are searching for truth.love.hope, something they can stand on that won’t be shakey, unlike the times we seem to be living in….the churches here are small, but they are mighty! We were so blessed by the people of Clackmannanshire, especially the churches- they have made our time here so wonderful, cold and all! ;-) The seeds planted for this harvest have not been sewn without a high cost. The prayers of the righteous have indeed been heard by our heavenly Father.

A few testimonies from last week (from our team and ourselves)……

- Our host in tillicoultry invited her grand-daughter to one of our shows. The grand-daughter used to be involved in church a lot when she was a younger but when she started high school things changed-new friends, new scene, and no one to really go to church with. On the night of our show, when they gave the altar call, she went forward and rededicated her life as well as two of her friends that were with her. At the next night’s show more of her friends surrendered their lives to Jesus, so now she has friends to fellowship and go to church with :)

- It was the night of our last show in Clackmannanshire and I was asked to share my testimony on forgiveness. I was praying about it and knew I was meant to share, but didn’t know exactly how I was going to share my story. So the night of the show I was praying during our worship time, and God started to give me little words here and there but still never gave me the whole outline. So I just continued to worship and just felt Gods presence. It was my turn to go up and I just told Him, ok Lord be my words because besides the few words you gave me I have no idea how this is going to look. Went out started off with Aloha and my goodness, God just took it from there. He totally was feeding me the lines and I felt as if I was a spectator watching myself speak. So after the show ended I went out to see if God wanted me to pray for anyone in particular. A teenage girl after a while came up to me and started asking questions about the tour and our group. She said she had to go but I felt like there was something there. I asked if there’s something she wanted me to pray for her and she began to explain that she had caught a case and it’s been hard. She started crying, and I hugged her and asked what kind of case? She shared that she had been sexually molested and doesn’t think she could find it in her heart to forgive him for what he did. She was weeping so I just held her and began to pray whatever God gave me the words for. After I told her that forgiveness is for our freedom, it’s not right what he did but we need to let go so we can move forward and be free. Also, that God will be with her every step of the way, she’s not alone. There was such a glow about her after and I just know God did and is doing so much inside of her heart and spirit. Amen! It’s amazing what happens when we just say, “God have your way!”

- On Sunday our team was split into three so we could minister at three different services. At our church we got to pray for the town and the unity within the churches. The Lord had given a couple of us a picture of fire and healing waters. Three people in the church confirmed that God had given them that same picture 3 and 10 years ago. As we were praising God in worship the Pastor said,”Well since that’s the Word is there any one that needs healing?” A few people stood…As we were praying for one of the men that stood, he told us he had scoliosis in his lower back. So we prayed, declared and prophesied. We told him do you feel ok and he was like yeah. So we challenged him and say do something you haven’t done in a long time and he touched his toes with out any pain. PRAISE GOD.

-There was an elderly man in attendance named Mark who had been especially touched during our performance. He watched us with tear filled eyes and at the end of the performance wanted to talk to Jose, one of our guy dancers. Mark began to tell Jose of his past….Mark was a police officer in his younger days and had a beautiful wife. It was during this time that he lost her to death. Six years ago he turned away from God and that day, during the performance he determined in his heart to surrender his life to God. That is why he could not hold back the tears, he said it was so good to feel God’s presence again. Jose was able to pray love and peace to cover him the rest of his days and that today was a new day of life with God. Mark smiled through his tears and said yes, it is. Thank you for everything.

-My niece, who I haven’t seen in more than a decade, came to visit us and gave her life to Jesus that night!!

Clearly God is alive and doing what he does best- restoring the lives of his beloved children.

Right now we are in Oban, Argyll. Tomorrow night we will have our performance at the local hall, which also happens to be Tavita’s 10th birthday. Today he kept asking if he had to do school work on his birthday :) He has grown so much and already wears the same shoe size as Rudy! He is a complete joy. This is not his first birthday in Scotland, 5 years ago we celebrated his birthday in Kilmarnock and now here we are again. None of his buddies his age are here so before we left home we had a small party for him.

On Saturday we will travel to Castle Douglas and then on Sunday we will have another evening performance. Here are a few pictures of last week….if you’re on facebook you can check us out for frequent updates and photos (Island Breeze IWT) :) God bless you and may his face shine upon you!

Native Elder Dances for Her Creator!

Our time on Ojibwe land in Sagkeeng (Sageeng) was special. I felt to challenge the people of the land to teach us something because their drums and dances need to be heard and done to bring Glory to the Creator. I also told them what I’ve learned from Linda Prince, a Native American Prophet who said

“No Identity, No Dignity. No Dignity, No Authority.”

After the invitation to express their culture was put out the eldest woman stood up and danced…her leading out led to all of us getting up to participate with her. Not just to be spectators. She told me that if we want her to do this tomorrow night she will bring her whole regalia and she did. The next night we gave the elder (lovingly known as Grandma) an oppurtunity to share her dance and song. When the time came, she stood up amongst the audience and came forward, clothed in the regalia of her people, the Ojibwe tribe.  It was a beautiful sight to see. Another elder from the tribal counsel got up and joined her. It wasn’t long before they were joined by others, representing all generations!

God moved in people’s hearts and many prayers were answered during our short time Sagkeeng. We can’t share the stories without consent from those involved, but rest assured, God was and is glorfied.

To God be all the glory!!

Aloha, Rudy.

Right before Grandma came up to share her dance with us….

Where are they now…?

Aloha Family and Friends,

A quick recap on the past couple months….in July our family celebrated two weddings:

Moa, our “adopted” son, and also one of our team members for the past 4 years. He married Kayla, who is one of Brooke’s best friends and also one of our Island Breeze nieces.

and Rudy’s niece, Ashley in Honolulu:

Rudy sang Ashley down the aisle and our girls were apart of the bridal party. We spent a week with our family in Honolulu. It was a great time, as we don’t get to see them often.

After the weddings we headed to Alaska to partner with our long time friends and leader’s of IB Makapala, Eruera and Lis Kawe. We were the for 3 weeks, ministering in Lis’s village and hometown, churches, and in the community. Eruera used to be apart of our team back in his single days. It was such a joy for us to serve alongside him with his family and their team. Alaska is known for the beauty of the outdoors, it definitely did not fail! It is a wonder that anyone could visit this place and still believe there is no God. We spent many hours driving to minister in different towns and were so blessed to experience so much of Alaska’s natural beauty!

hiked up the mountain in Mentasta

doing our favorite song “..for He’s…more Wonderful….” :)

During Alaska Ablaze camp in Mentasta

After Alaska our team went back to the Big Island of Hawaii (home base), unpacked, repacked, and hopped on a plane a week later and headed for Minnesota. We did some fundraisers for our team and stayed with some pretty rad people. We possibly have a Minnesotan girl coming to join us next year :)

So where are we now???

CANADA!

Island Breeze has many operating locations around the world- two of our bases are located in Canada; Island Breeze Manitoba and Island Breeze Alberta.

We were invited to come and partner with IB Manitoba as they ministered in the First Nation’s Tribes as well as lend a helping hand (and dancing feet) to our beloved Fiji team. They were just commissioned a couple months ago by our international Island Breeze leadership in Hawaii. The leaders, Soni and Brooke Raiquiso, are in Canada awaiting the birth of their second child. We spent a couple weeks with them in Brooke’s hometown of Morris and a couple weeks in Steinbach and abroad with the Manitoba crew.

It has seriously been an enriching time for us as a team. Most of the people that make up our 13 person team are first timers to touring so it’s been good for us as a whole to be able to serve along side our other bases as well as get to know IB Manitoba’s first ever DTS :)

There have been many testimonies of God’s faithfulness and provision during our stay here, so many that your eyes might start hurting if i were to write them all out.

I will share this one though; last week we were in Sagkeeng First Nation with IB Manitoba. It is no secret that the First Nation’s people of Canada have a very high percentage of their young people committing suicide and addicted to alcohol. The pastor’s in Sagkeeng invited our teams to come and put on a couple performances in the community- of course they have heard the message of the Gospel before but the way we presented it blew them away. To see the love of God expressed through our cultural and indigenous dances blessed them so much. The people were very open to prayer and more than a handful made public decisions to make Jesus Lord of their lives. We left that place thoroughly blessed. God is so good in that when we give, he always blesses us back much more than we deserve or expect.

Our wonderful host family in Morris, MB

Tavita and his amazing tutor/guitarist- Ashley Phipps from Ohio. She has been a HUGE blessing to our family and team as a whole. Tavita loves her, saying she’s the best teacher he’s ever had. What about mommy?? lol.

Please continue to pray for us as we are on the road until December.

Please pray for our safety and health as we will be keeping a busy schedule and for our finances as a team and as a family.

Thank you so much for reading.

A hui ho, until we meet again :)

What a small world….

For the next three months the Valle’s will be stationed in ONE place.

Amazing, ain’t it?

A couple weeks ago we invited some new+old friends up for a lovely ocean view breakfast. Two were a couple from Brazil that we have known for a couple years and the other two were new friends from Norway. As the morning conversation went on the dots connected that one of the lady’s from Norway had actually seen us in 1999 while we were there traveling with Impact World Tour! We were in the town of Bergen and she tried to attend one of the shows but was turned away due to a full house. We never met her and she wasn’t a Christian yet either, but who knows, maybe the seeds that were planted then are a result of her knowing Jesus now…….

oh the places you’ll go…

Aloha All!!

We, the Valle’s, wish you all the very best in the 2nd month of this blessed new year!

A quick update on our lives….

We are all back in Kailua-Kona until April. 2010 was a very busy year for us as we ministered in 2 nations [S.Korea+Philippines], 7 states in the USA, and countless towns/cities. Over 40,000 souls were won for the Kingdom in those 7months!! Thousands more heard the Gospel message of Jesus Christ. Seeds were planted and only God knows the harvest that is taking place even now…..

It was a very busy year and we are very grateful to be home for a bit. Unpack the suitcases, live out of a closet for a little bit :) ….Tavita is ecstatic to be home where he is closer to all his buddies and of course, his video games.

In January our team went up to Hartville, Ohio [www.hartvillekitchen.com] for the Hartville Marketplace’s annual luau. We were also blessed to have our friends organize a fundraiser luau for our ministry. We were set to fly home on February 1st but a snow storm blew through and our connecting flight out of Chicago was cancelled, along with 600+ other flights. Thankfully our good friends in Hartville didn’t mind us staying an extra week until the airports were opened again.

Everything is ultimately in God’s hands. Nothing happens without a purpose. During the week extra week we stayed in Ohio we were able to meet the principal of Lake Center Christian School. He was excited to hear about the things we were involved in and invited us to participate in his school’s chapel time. We were happy to go and serve. It turned out to be a great time. The kids and teachers loved the different expression of worship that we brought. We did two chapel services for students from preschool to middle school. During the middle school assembly the Lord led one of our guys to share his testimony, Rudy picked up after that and gave an opportunity for the kids to start a personal relationship with Jesus. Around 15 children responded! For that reason alone it was worth staying another week in freezing Ohio :)

Ruth was not with us during this recent trip to Ohio. She is finished with school and is now an intern+student at the International House of Prayer’s Fire in the Night. It’s a 3month course….she is dearly missed but we know this is where God wants her to be at this time. She is loving it, deepening and solidifying her foundations in the King of kings.

Brooke has risen up and helped lead the team, especially the young girls that have recently joined. Right now she is praying as to what to pursue next….whether to continue on with Island Breeze in ministry or pursue her passion for photography or other things God has placed on her heart. Please keep her in your prayers as she seeks God for direction.

The rest of the family is doing great, feeling a little under the weather since returning home but nonetheless grateful to be back :)

The team will be serving alongside the YWAM Kona base as well as serving in different areas in the community. We are also training as a team (dance, music, and teachings), sharpening the tools that God has given us.

To keep updated on what we are doing as a ministry, you can follow us on our facebook page:

We have a new member on our team, Kaleb from Australia. He was apart of Island Breeze Brisbane and has finally crossed over in his canoe to join us here in Hawaii.

Tony went home for Christmas and has been there spending time with his family as well as working to save up money to come back. He misses us and of course we miss him as well. Please continue to pray for him and the rest of our family.

Thank you for reading and until next time,

a hui ho!

Aloha.

Aloooooooha!!!

The Valle’s are back in Kailua-Kona! After 7 months of traveling the earth our canoe has finally made her way back to her home.

This is just a quick update…outreach in California was awesome! It was not as busy as we are used to, but it was a great pace for us to wind down the end of our journey abroad. We were connected with many wonderful new friends and got to witness the love of God melt even the hardest of hearts….

Back in Kona- what’s next?

YWAM is celebrating it’s 50th anniversary!! [http://www.ywam50.com/]

Lore and Darlene Cunningham (founder’s of Youth With a Mission-YWAM) have been traveling the globe since the beginning of this year to celebrate with YWAM’ers on every continent. The finale is being held in our very own Kona town and Island Breeze has been given the honor of opening the celebrations and also closing with a grand fire show.

So since being home we have joined forces with our Island Breeze family in Hawaii and have started learning the new dances/chants/songs that we will perform next week.

The agenda looks a bit like this:

Nov20-28: training for YWAM 50th

Nov29-Dec4: YWAM 50th Celebrations

Dec10: our team goes home for the holidays

Dec10-the Valle’s will take a much needed break!!

Rudy + Olepa have been leading, parenting, performing, traveling, etc for the past 7 months and are in dire need of a good rest..not sure where we’ll spend Christmas- but Lord willing it will be nice+restful.

Thank you again for your prayers and support.

Really, we could not keep on going without it.

God Bless + Happy Thanksgiving!!

Fall in the mainland.

Christmas is right around the corner…..

my, oh my, where has time gone?

It’s been a long minute since our last update, apologies dear friends. I will try my best to sum up the past 4months………..

Philippines-July

California+Nevada-August

Missouri+Kentucky+Ohio-Sept/Oct

[tavita was baptized]

Pennsylvania+California-Oct/Nov

Where are we now??

The Valle family is currently in Coatesville, Pennsylvania! We’ve been here for the past week and a half ministering at local churches and making new friends :) Yesterday we were able to be apart of YWAM Coatesville’s 50th celebration. What a privilege to be apart of celebrating what God has done in and through YWAM for the past five decades.

Our family has been on the road since April traveling to a few nations, ministering in dozens of cities/towns, meeting hundreds of people and witnessing thousands respond to the life changing message of Jesus Christ. It has been a challenging yet immensely rewarding 7 months.

We are on the last leg of our journey….less than 2 weeks until this canoe heads back to the home base! We could not have made it through this long outreach without the support and prayers from our family and friends all over the world. So if that was you, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. There is nothing like fulfilling your calling and knowing that not only does the God of the universe have your back, but your fellow brothers and sisters have got your back as well.

Please continue to pray for safe travels. Rudy has been a key instrument in taking back what the enemy has stolen from the Kingdom which has come with a cost- during our travels he has been up and down physically. His voice has still not completely healed but now his body seems to be feeling the strain of the traveling and ministry. Not only is he our leader, he also is our main musician, speaker, driver…pretty much everything. Thankfully God has brought some support but Rudy still carries the brunt of the load so please keep him in your prayers.

In other news, Tavita turned 9! He is a strong boy that loves adventure and making new friends. Out of everyone he is the most excited to return home. He can’t wait to see all his cousins & friends to play wii and nerf gun wars :) .

The rest of the family is well. We are being carried by the strong yet gentle hand of our heavenly father. Our team is made up of 15 young men and women from all different backgrounds and nationalities…God has indeed blessed us with a great group of people that are passionate about telling a hurting world about his redeeming love.

We are excited for our last weeks in the mainland- God has already done so much in our lives and the lives of those around us. He has blessed us even though we are the ones that have come to bless! He is a good Father.

———————————————————————

Last hope.

Northern Kentucky-

It was just ‘another’ show….the dances went well and now it was to the more serious stuff. Rudy was sharing his story, how he had contemplated suicide 5 times and attempted it thrice. Rudy has shared his story countless times in over 20 nations, one could allow yourself to think that after that many times it’s a stale cookie. Wrong.

In the audience there was ONE man who could relate….

In the audience that night there was ONE man who was just as desperate…

In the audience there was ONE man who had planned the very next day to take his own life….

In the audience there was ONE heart crying out for something worth living for…..

Before the close of every show an invitation is given to all in attendance to surrender their lives to Love. There’s also an invitation for those who have lost the fire to come and rekindle it.

In the audience this ONE man, broken and worn, came forward and chose to rekindle that flame….

Rudy was able to talk and pray for him.

If out of these 7months only that ONE life was changed, then it has all been worth it.

And they have conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony….” – Revelation 12:11

Never underestimate what God can do through you and the story he has gifted you with.

Peace.

Faithful.

Our time in Korea has come to an end. What a journey it has been!

For the first month and a half we were in Jeju Island sharing the gospel of Jesus through our testimonies, cultural dances and songs.

As some of you know last year in November Island Breeze was in Korea doing a promo tour. We were invited to minister at many churches during this 3 week stay. After every church service Rudy would give an open invitation to anyone wanting prayer for whatever reason to come forward. After one particular service the pastor and his wife Rudy, Ruth and Charlene (team member) to pray specifically that they would be able to have children. The couple had been trying for 5 years……so the team prayed. We visited this same church since being back and guess what? The Pastor and his wife are expecting their first child!! She is 7months pregnant which is the exact amount of time since our last visit to Korea. GOD IS GOOD!!

After the GX show Ruth and I (Brooke) were asked to pray for a girl. She’s 18 and up until that night she had been an Atheist. She had been so touched by the Holy Spirit while someone else from the team was praying for her that her Christian friend that had brought her was asking all the team members to pray for her. We were only too happy to oblige. After we prayed for her we asked how she felt. With teary eyes and a happy face she said she felt something good inside of her. Proof that the power of God can touch even the most skeptic hearts.

These are but a few drops that make up the larger body of water of stories from this outreach.

Our last, and only outdoor show was the most memorable of the whole tour. The forecast for the last week was beautiful and warm except for the day of our hub. We stormed the heavens with prayer asking God to change the forecast and bring the sun out when show day came. It was not so, however the show must go on! The rain fell from light sprinkles to heavy downpour throughout the day but everyones attitude was optimistic–ain’t no rain gonna ruin this parade! And sure enough at 7pm we had an audience and the performance began…..from hip hoppers, to brick breakers, to the Samoan fire knife dancers, to the skaters everyone gave their all.

Everyone was gathered on the stage, wet and smiling, standing behind the preacher man as he gave the call to anyone who wanted to have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. And as my dad invited the people forward the rain stopped. Just like that. I was standing in the audience and heard a hush throughout the crowd, they couldn’t believe it and neither could I! The people went forward, prayers were prayed and then like it was on timer the rain started up again-but this time, ever so lightly. It was a remarkably wet and fun night. To God be all the glory : )

So you might be wondering, is this the end to the Valle’s time in Korea?

The answer to that would be a juicey NO.

We had 2 1/2 weeks until the Philippines tour and my parents felt we were to stay in Seoul and see if we could do some ministry and fundraisers. As you may or may not know, we came on one way tickets!

For the past two weeks God has opened many doors and given us opportunities to plant seeds that I believe will bear great fruit in the years to come.

We have performed at churches, made many new friends and also performed at some of the leading Christian schools in the city. The directors from IWT Korea have been a huge help in organizing, facilitating and translating for us during this time. We are so grateful for all our new family in Korea and will miss them dearly as our time here comes to an end.

I’ve heard the saying that you can’t out give a Korean.

Tis true.

We came to serve and yet we are leaving as kings and queens.

Just goes to show you that if you’re in the will of God there is favor!

Please keep us in your prayers as we head out to Davao, Philippines.

4th outreach in a row. Bring it on!!
